Default How to resolve a bench warrant

i missed a court date for a felony tresspass in ashland oregon. the court date was february 20something, and i will be back in oregon in the middle of may. i dont really know what a bench warrant is, but i have been in court a few times and i know the normal court procedure, i just dont know what it is exactly if i missed the original date. is it a fine? jail time? im really wondering if its worth it to go turn myself in. i dont live in oregon, and i probably wont be back there except for a week in may. im sure some people know what i should expect, thanks in advance.

If you contact the court, they may be able to describe the procedure for turning yourself in on the bench warrant, and schedule a date in May when you can do so. You may wish to also consult a local criminal defense lawyer about the charge, with an eye toward resolving the matter when you are back in Oregon on that date.
