Concealed Weapons Charge, then Two Days Before Sentence

I guess I live in a never, never land. I am trying to help out a friend who was VERY misguided by his family and the SYSTEM.

I thought if you were getting sentenced (Concealed weapon, non-violent, no search warrant, arrest) They *prosecutor* could not throw out new evidence just prior to sentencing? Am I wrong?

My friend was set up, by a family member, told to go ahead and bring his guns home, so I could take pictures and we could sell them ASAP, because he needed the money. No where on his bond, or paperwork did it state he was not allowed to have his long guns, or other weapons. The police came in, without warrant, and took all the guns, including knifes.

Now he is sentenced to 30 days in jail for walking to his relatives house with a duffle bag, with one gun (hand gun) and several other items. The police came, no warrant, he was arrested, and told he either sign the COBBS agreement or face 7-10 years in prison.
I find this whole thing unbelievable, but considering they are trying to disarm all of America and leave the weapons in the hands of those more qualified, I.E. Criminals and Cops......what to do?

He probably got arrested for being a felon in possession of a gun.

He was already convicted, he just needed to attend a sentencing hearing to see what if any time he was going to serve on the original charge.
