Default How to Request a Continuance in Traffic Court

This is for Washington state, King county, Shorline district court..
I received a ticket for speeding and had a contested hearing scheduled for March. I called the court clerk and asked for a continuation because I was going to be out of town on that date. Continuation was granted and court date rescheduled for April. I found out that I have to be out of town again (on business travel) on that date and was told I would need to write to the judge in order to request another continuance. I was also told I could do this by email.

Is a letter sent via email sufficient in order to gain a continuance?

How would one go about properly wording such a request and/or any tips I might follow?

    Thanks!

If the court clerk says that they will accept a request for a continuance by email, then it is reasonable to conclude that they will accept a request for a continuance by email.

I doubt that a court that allows continuance requests by email is going to be hung up on presentation. Document your need to travel, and why you cannot reschedule or avoid the trip.
