Neighbor Fell Off His Ladder on My Property to Help Trim Trees

My neighbor helps my mom trim trees. He helped us couple times before and we always pay him afterwards. Today, my mom asked him if he can help trim tree and he said no problem. He says our ladder was too short so he decided to use his long ladder. He climbed and fell off because the ladder was long and not stable. His daughter called 911 and they sent him to hospital.

He is 70 years old and has Medicare and Medical insurance. My question is if we are responsible for anything. If yes, what portion?
