Default Certified Mail Rejected by a Judge

My question involves court procedures for the state of: Missouri

I'm not sure where to put this, but since it's a civil matter I thought this was as good a spot as any. I sent a certified, return receipt letter to a judge in Missouri. The letter was refused twice. What would be a reason that it would be refused? Probably a stupid question, but was really wondering. thanks!

The judge cannot communicate with you about your case. It's not permitted. Hence, the refusal.

So any communication with a judge for anything will be refused? I'm not sure I understand. I sent a letter that was contesting a name change for a minor. I wanted to be sure that it was received, hence the certified mail. The mail was never opened, just refused and returned, and there was nothing on the envelope stating what was inside or what case it belonged to. It was just a piece of mail addressed to a judge.

If you want to file documents with the court, you file them with the court via the clerk's office, duly serving copies on the other parties. You don't do so by sending certified letters to the judge.

Obviously I should have asked this before doing what I did! Thanks for the info.
