Default Parking Citation Due to Misleading Signs

My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: Rosemead, California

I was cited for parking in a no parking zone. However, I parked in front of a sign that stated: 2 Hour parking 8am-6pm (excluding sunday). Shouldn't parking be okay after the regulated hours. I checked within 100ft of my car and there were no "no parking signs" to be found.

When I request a contest form, they told me that there was a no parking sign posted in the block. does that mean the default is no parking on that block even if a sign is posted more than 100 ft away? When I visited the same block, the no parking sign was before several commercial driveway entrance and quite far from where i park. Can I contest this ticket due to misleading parking signs?

Where are you getting the 100 ft limitation from?
What code section were you cited for?
And what does the no parking sign say?

I found out there were "No parking anytime" signs approximately ~100 ft before the 2-hour sign I parked in front of. It was unclear that the No Parking Anytime sign applied to the zone I parked in. Is it arguable?

I was cited for code 15.20.070 Failure to obey Posted Signs.

    Thanks

Without seeing the signs, where they are located/where each zone starts and the other ends, what color the curb is adjacent to where you parked, where you were parked relative to each sign/zone... etc, it will be very difficult to say.

It's possible, for example, that the two-hour zone started on the other side of the sign by which you parked, and you were in the no-parking zone. It certainly would help to be able to see the signs and their location.

Thanks for the advice. I turned in my contest paperwork and the ticket was dismissed.
