Caught With a Small Amount of Marijuana

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania

was found in a park with 1 gram of marijuana and a homemade pipe. they did not mention anything about court or being arrested or given a citation, just called my parents to pick me up. but apparantly told my mom that i have a court date sometime. i am 17, this is my first offense and i really dont know what is going to happen, and just thought i should ask for ideas from people who know what they are talking about.

It will depend on what you are charged with.

You should get something in the mail explaining your charges and giving you a court date.

If you are found guilty of possession, besides the criminal penalties you will be given 6 months of driver's license suspension for each count.

Talk to a lawyer and get help for the drug problem.

See if entering in to a diversion program if that an option,you might be able to avoid the license suspension that way.

I got the mail today and am being charged with disorderly conduct, not possession of marijuana. My parents lawyer says that i am getting a good deal, i do not have a license my driving test is next week though a few days before the scheduled hearing. What does this mean regarding the license suspension and "disorderly conduct" instead of "possession"? i dont know anything except that i got a good deal.
