I'm not a lawyer, but I play a researcher on the internet!
Caution: I bite. WARNING: Do not send questions or complaints by PM. I'm likely to post them publicly and embarrass you half to death.
I'm training for the MS Society's Bike to the Bay - and blogging about it!

I read the stickys before I posted. I just know all your negative comments are bullshit.Taylor could easily support himself, we haven't even decided if he's getting emancipated or not. If it comes to he'll take the job waiting for him and get some proof together to show to a judge. Just because you were so rude to me and I was rude back doesn't mean I'll be rude to someone who actually tries to help. So please, stop typing to me, cause you haven't got a clue.
I'm fine with my family and they're fine with me. I'm just trying to help someone close to me. By the way, life is easy if you know how to manipulate it. You're just stuck in a rut, your life. Oh yes, and before you post again trying to hurt a 15 year old's feelings, remember, your dumb-ass posts make me laugh.Byeee.
Which is good. Because it's not UP to either of you. There is ONE person who gets to say "yea" or "nay" - the judge.
You're certainly welcome to get the same response from a very polite attorney - for a fee. The yellow pages are FULL of attorneys who will be happy to take your money, schmooze for a while, commiserate with the situation, tell you it won't happen given the circumstances, and then shake your hand and have you stop at the reception desk for the bill. The outcome won't change. So please, stop typing to me, cause you haven't got a clue.

Still young enough to expect that the world is going to do what she wants....
Listen, sweetie. Pay close attention now like the grownup you're pretending to be and not the silly little child you really are.
THERE. IS. NO. LAW. IN. COLORADO. THAT. WILL. GRANT. TAYLOR. AN. EMANCIPATION.
All the kindness and understanding and rainbows and fluffy kittens in the world is not going to create a law that does not exist.
In order for a judge to order him emancipated, he would need to have his mother's permission to move out because he CANNOT, in your state, be emancipated if he is not ALREADY living on his own, AND he would have to pay 100% of his own support, AND the judge would have to agree that that having him pay 100% of his own support while still going to school is a good idea.
Do you understand that if he is living with someone else he is not paying 100% of his own support?
Do you understand how much it costs to pay 100% of your own support? (A lot more than you think.)
Do you understand that a judge is far more likely to put him in foster care (assuming he agrees that having him live elsewhere than with his mother is a good idea) than he is to emancipate him?
Of course you don't. Because you still think that you get to control the world.
However, these are facts that will not go away no matter how much you want them to.
