My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
I got a CHP ticket for crossing over the double yellow lines. Actually half my car was on the double yellow lines and the other half was not. Now I tried doing a trial by declaration by signing up online but for some reason it didn't go through so I got a failure to appear on the ticket. I went to court for my arraignment and plead guilty. The judge dropped the failure to appear and asked me to go to the cashier. After court fees my ticket jumped from around $500 to $839. I'm a full-time student and cannot afford to pay that. Is there anything else I can do to at least drop the amount I owe even after pleading guilty? I have till July to pay but still cannot afford so much.
