Default 17 Year Old Charged with Reckless Driving

My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Connecticut

My daughter was arrested yesterday for reckless driving. She was clocked at 90 mph. My question is do I need an attorney to represent her when we go to court? What type of fines is she looking at? I know she stands the chance of losing her license for 6 months for a first offense. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    This is in juvenile court?

In adult court, any person convicted of reckless driving is subject to a $ 100 to $ 300 fine, court assessments, up to 30 days imprisonment, or both for the first offense and up to a $600 fine, up to one year imprisonment, or both for each subsequent offense. In juvenile court the court is able to fashion a more flexible remedy, based upon the circumstances and perceived needs of the juvenile. She can expect the driver's license suspension if she's adjudicated guilty.

It's often possible to negotiate a reckless driving charge down to a lesser offense, so it's worth consulting a lawyer. When you consider what this will do to her insurance rates, a lawyer may not seem all that expensive.
