Default I Put Eyedrops in My Roommate's Drink

My question involves criminal law for the state of: TEXAS

Recently, I put eye drops into my room mates water because we never get along and I know i shouldn't have but, I just wanted to get her a "little sick" but, she ended up in the ER and had blood work done and the report came out that she was poisoned with: Tetrahydrozoline (eye drops). When I heard this I freaked out because I had told some of my friends about the incident and then they told her and now she wants to press charges against me.....what will happen to me?

You need to get an attorney NOW.

There are any number of things you can be charged with - assault with intent to do great bodily harm, for sure - and jail time is definitely on the table.

    TOTALLY STUPID.

You better quickly come up with a means to put your affairs in order, raise bail and hire an attorney. If you can't afford an attorney one will be appointed, but you don't want to go that route if you can avoid it.

This is much more serious than you apparently realize.

In this day and age, you would be hard pressed to come up with a more stupid idea, plus you would be the most logical suspect anyway, plus you admitted to it to friends. Well I guess it it best to weed the total morons out of the population at an early age.

And stop talking to anyone else! Speak with only your attorney.

And you seriously...SERIOUSLY....thought this was a good idea? Did you think it would be FUNNY to make her sick? Even if it had worked out the way you intended, you HONESTLY thought that this was acceptable behavior?

I weep for the future of this country.

Take my word for it - if you don't get along with a roommate, move out, or ask her to. Don't resort to this kind of trick. It's not worth it.

Um, admitting to making someone sick isn't going to make for friends. The OP wants advice, see an atty, but don't expect a nice response from the general population. This world isn't perfect, but we should at least have an expectation of respect for another human.

BTW, many of us only have experience, and are NOT lawyers.

And perhaps you need to quit posting inanity.

If people want people to answer like attorneys, they can PAY an attorney to have the answer delivered however they want. When you're asking for freebies, we get to be opinionated assholes (strangely similar to the general population, who do things like.....hmmmm.....sit on juries).

just for some general info, here is a link to the Snopes website. They list several cases and the results.

    chrissy2,

I don't know if you realize but tetrahydrozoline has been known to cause death. The OP here is in some very serious trouble. If you think we are bad, just think about how OP will be treated while sitting in jail.

this is far beyond trying to be the OP's parent.

OP needs to find an attorney now rather than later.
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.
