Just Won Unemployment Appeal - How Long Before I Receive Back Benefits

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California

After waiting 24 weeks for my appeal hearing, I waited another 3 weeks to receive the decision. That was today, and I am very thankful that I won!

How long does it take EDD to issue the check for back benefits? I have been searching the internet high and low and can not find any info.

Don't know, but sheesh, six-plus MONTHS?

I think all the unemployed persons in California should unionize and start marching on the capitol, the governor's mansion, and every EDD office in the state. I contribute to several forums like this and we get more complaints about California, by far, than any other state.

Ask the EDD. If you can't reach them by phone, send them on message via their website. They usually reply within a couple of days.

Regardless, you're almost there. You're fortunate to have won so be patient just a little longer.

Yes! 6 months! Crazy I know. Actually 7 months now....

Steamer, I called them on February 25th to see what's next. I actually got through but the guy on the other end sounded young enough to be my son, and just as knowledgable. He told me it would take 10 days to "amend" my file with the decision, but he had to ask someone. :-) I know it's only been a week, so I have to be patient a little longer.
