Should I Tell the Officer or Judge That I Have a Radar Detector

Is it ever a good idea to tell the officer or judge that I have a radar detector? The officer didn't write down that he used a laser gun so how can I let the judge know which SMD was used? "Your honor, I know he used laser because my radar detector was flashing laser?"

Would they judge think that because I have a detector that I am prone to speeding?
