Default The Bank made an error in my favor

Okay, so i was making change at a bank and the bank sent me back the change and the money i had used to make the change. Its only $50 that i was having broken down for my work. They sent me the original 50 and the correct change. I honestly didnt notice this til i got back to work. the boss said "keep it" I plan on taking it back tommarrow. My question was if i did keep it would they charge me with theft. Anouther employee brought this up, said you can be charged crimminally for keeping a bank error. what do you think?

It's unlikely that they would detect it, and would be even harder for them to prove that you intentionally kept the money. (I don't even know how much cash is in my wallet right now - and I'm sitting on it. If I added some money from the bank, I might not even notice an error - whether in my favor or theirs.)

The bank teller's drawer will be off by $50 - that's a big deficit. Taking the money back may save somebody's job.
