Default Speeding Tickets in Los Angeles, California

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of CA.

I have 3 tickets, and I wanted to know if anyone can make any sort of recommendation as to how i can possibly fight these tickets. I have read in many forums and posts about "discovery" and other things about calibration of radar and so on. I need some direction on what steps to actually take, and if it would be smart for me to expend my TBD as far as possible.

    Tickets are as follows:

    1) Ticket in July of 2009 - I was not aware of TBD so i extended my ticket at first. After extension, i asked for a court date, which is coming up in April. The officer pulled myself and a friend over (i was following her) for speed 99mph in a 65 zone. HE did not use a laser or radar, rather he said he paced us. He pulled us over by going in front of us and blocking the freeway and getting our attention and pulling us over. This was on the 2 freeway in Glendale.

    2) I was driving 4am and got pulled over 10 days ago. The officer said i was doing apprix 90mp/h in a 65. He said he used a Laser. I noticed there were 2 cop cars involved. I have not done anything with this case yet, as it still hasen't shown up on the superiorcourt website. Should I do TBD? What should i say? Should i ask for "discovery"? or any other type of info?

    3) I was driving in Kern County, the officer was hiding what looked to be a seperate freeway. There were 4 lanes, and i was in the last one to the left. He was at least 5 lanes away. I noticed he had to merge on the the freeway to catch up to me and pull me over. He wrote me down for 89mp/h using Radar. This ticket occurred exactly 1 day after my #2 ticket, i still haven't done anything with it.

I am not eligible for traffic school as i took it for a red light camera about 5 months ago.

I am looking to avoid these points off my driving record as my insurance premium is going to fly through the roof.

    What are you suggestions?

    Thanks

Sounds to me like you were cited for vehicle code section 22349(a) (for the first two) and either 22349(a) or 22356 for the third 9depending on what the spee limit is (65mph or 70mph)...

If that is the case, it's gonna be pretty tough fighting any of these... try to do a TBD on whichever ones you can and see what the outcome would be. If you are still found guilty, file for a Trial De Novo and hope that the officer doesn't show up.

    What are you suggestions?
Slowing down might be a good place to start... The DMV will impose a mandatory 6 month suspension + 1 year probation (no citations within 1 year) when your violation point count reaches 4 points. Potentially, each of these citations will cost you 1 violation point... 1 more point between now and July/2010, and you license is toast!
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!
