H1-B Visas and Marriage

Guys,

I'm here in US on H1b and my girlfriend also has H1b. We want to get married in US. I wanted to know if I can I go for the court marriage here in US? I'm asking this question since I'm not a US citizen and I'm not sure whether I can get my marriage registered in US or not. Another question is whether my marriage would be valid in India or not?

You can marry in the U.S. even if you're not a citizen - some states, including Nevada and Hawaii, generate significant revenue from playing host to marriages for people from other states and countries. You will have to check the marriage license requirements in your state to see if you meet their residency requirements; some states verify your immigration status, but only in relation to whether you're unlawfully present and you have a valid visa.

I can't speak to Indian laws; but I would expect them to recognize the validity of a U.S. marriage.
