My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Colorado.
I'm 17 years old, today i was in an accident on a resedential road. The speed limit was 25 mph and there were 2 cars infront of me going 7mph under limit, the rest of the street completely empty. I got onto the left side of the street and went 30mph in order to pass the 2 cars infront of me which seemed to be going straight. I passed the 1st car and as i was passing the 2nd car, the 2nd car took a left turn without signaling first or reducing speed at all, and i ended up coliding with the rear door of the car. I was charged with reckless driving and given 8 points on my license. A court date was set. Is there anything i can say in court in my defense in order to alleviate the ammount of points on my license and hopefully avoid suspension of my license?
This is the first ticket that i have ever recieved, will that make any difference on the sevarity of the consequences?
