    Default Fair Use and Parody

Pennsylvania-My company has an employee recognition program called wow. I wanted to put together a video called "wow moments in film history" my plan was to take scenes and replace images and/or dialogue with "wows". Examples: when Indiana Jones finds the statue in Raiders it is a WOW statue instead of the idol. In Jaws the shark has a wow in its mouth with the line, "you're gonna need a bigger wow".

My question is, would this be considered parody and ok under fair use?

thanks in advance for any help.

Under the strictest definition of parody - criticizing another work by making fun of it - no, this would not be parody.

It could still possibly fall under Fair Use - given how you plan to use it, I believe it does - but you'd really want to go over the specifics with an attorney in your area.

You can read a bit about both parody and Fair Use here.

Thanks for your input. They have decided not to pursue it further for now, but I appreciate the help.
