My boyfriend is being held responsible for a student loan of $29,509 at 12% interest, that he did not sign for back in 2004. The school is saying they received the loan from Sallie Mae in error and returned it. Sallie Mae is saying they dispersed the loan , but never received the loan back from Le Cordon Bleu. We are getting the run around from both ends. My boyfriend is saying he never signed for the loan, but Sallie Mae will not send copies of loan authorization for the loan. He did sign for a $29,509 loan with a co-signer. Sallie Mae said he authorized a second loan a week later of $29,509 without a co-signer. He couldn't get the first loan without a co-signer, but somehow is supposedly able to for the second one. We have tried to straighten this out with SM 2 years ago and could never get anything accomplished. We have now received his student account transactions from his school that show the error clearly as voided, so he never received the refund. How can we get this straightened out when SM will not provide the Master Promissary Notes that they said he signed the loans for??? The error happened back around 2005, but it's pretty obvious he's paying for a loan he didn't take out.![]()
