Both Cars Were Towed at My Apartment Complex

My question involves towing laws for the State of: tx
This morning my husband went outside to find out both cars were missing from their parking spots. I called the front desk and was told they had been towed for being double parked. There is always a parking issue since many cars don't know how to park and we are left to park in what is availabe and most of the time the parking spot we are in is in the middle of two cars that are double parked. We were also told that if we didn't have a parking permit our cars would be towed. There are many cars that don't have the permit but are allowed to park without being towed. When we picked up our cars we were told they were suppose to give us a warning or at least tell us our cars had been towed. Is there anything we can do?

If you were towed for being double parked, the permitting issue isn't relevant to this tow. To avoid a future problem, get permits. Easy enough.

By "double parked" you mean you squeezed your cars in between legally parked cars, so you were across the yellow? Normally "double parked" means that you're parked alongside another car, blocking it in. Either way, it would be pretty obvious that you're not supposed to park like that.

What does your lease say about parking? What do the signs in or at the entrances to the parking lot say?
