My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: CA/Mexico

I have Mexican plates the tags are expired. I drive around in Souther California in the San Diego area. Can I be ticketed for expired tags from a different country?

If you're a resident of California, you can be ticketed for not having California plates.

You can be ticketed for expired plates no matter where you actually reside.
