Default Issued a Driver's License Number Due to DUI, but Never Transferred License

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Kansas/Oklahoma

Three years after moving to Kansas I got a DUI. I never switched my license over to Kansas, though I am officially a resident having worked here and filed taxes the whole time. I've already gone through my suspension period and now i am on restriction. I have a ks dl no. assigned me and recently checked and my ok license is still clear. what exactly is going to happen here? should i just ignore my ok license and start using my ks dl no. as my official license? im a little confused. is ok going to take action againt me or what?

This is my favorite type of question which involves a computer glitch that effects many people. When you got your OUI did yoiu have an out of State license, no license at all or a Kansas license? If you run your KS License # it more than likely comes back fine...this is because you probably have 2 records in the DMV system. Under one you have the record of the OUI and under the other you are an entirely different person......If you are suspended under another number you can be arrested if you drive and are suspended under that number. Give me more info on the offense and where you had a license when it occured..

They will find out. I had Arizona and California license for years, each with dui on them. Recently went to renew my cal license and took me 2 days because of a nationwide system basically setup for "one number one driver". Suposed to follow you by ss

i had an oklahoma license when i got arrested .it was a few years after i moved to kansas. i contacted ok and they said my license was clear. but kansas has sent me papers with a ks. dl no. and now that my suspension is up i am on restriction to have interlock ignition. my main question is can ok take action against me even if i comply with kansas? istill live in kansas and the dui was in kansas

im not looking to buck the system just concerned that ok will impose its own penalty

Kansas issued you a number because the offensae occured in their State. Oklahoma says your license there is clear only because they don't know about the Kansas issue yet. They will eventually find out. At the very least it will happen when it is time to renew your license and they run you through NDR. Then they may suspend you as well as you are licensed in their State. You will have to comply with the interlock restricition and supension period at some point. Whether it is now or later. Now would be better as perhaps you can comply with allrequirments and get reinstated before Oklahoma also suspends you. If they do, you may have to satisfy their requirements as well. In other words, because you are licensed there, they can treat it as if the offense occured there and require you to complete their requirements for reinstatement such as alcohol classes, etc.
