    Question Expired Registration Washington State

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: washington

i was pulled over twice for expired tabs from the state of michigan where the car is registered. i am an active duty soldier attending full time college and the cops gave me two tickets for expired tabs.
my question is after looking at the tickets a little more closely i saw that there are two different sets of laws next to the infractions. one say violation of SMC 11.22.080 and the other says 11.22.080 (b).
would i be able to contest these tickets for inaccurate laws being sited?
    thanks

Washington state or DC. Wash states laws are prefixed with RCW and I believe the proper chapter would be 46.

Ah, I think I found the problem. Seattle municipal code 11.22.80

SMC 11.22.080 Vehicle license plates displayed.

No person shall operate any vehicle on any street or alley without
first having displayed current and proper vehicle license plates
thereon as provided in RCW Chapter 46.16. The vehicle license plates
shall be attached conspicuously at the front and rear of each vehicle
for which the same are issued and in such manner that they can be
plainly seen and read at all times; however, if only one (1) license
plate is legally issued for any vehicle such plate shall be
conspicuously attached to the rear of such vehicle. Each vehicle
license plate shall be placed or hung in a horizontal position at a
distance of not more than four (4) feet from the ground and shall be
kept clean so as to be plainly seen and read at all times; this
requirement shall not apply in cases where the Washington state patrol
has granted permission to deviate therefrom, as provided in RCW
    46.16.240. (RCW 46.16.240)
    I don't see a "b" section

anyway, why do you believe there is an incorrect statute cited?
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.

well on the ticket itself it states SMC 11.22.080 (b) and as we both can see there is no "b" section in this law....being a military paralegal myself i figured if i recite the wrong law on my end of the paperwork (procecution) we are obligated to drop that charge......i thought would be the same in the civilian world, it shows that the officer was not propely trained on the law he had cited me for....thanks for your time

    you stated this:

would i be able to contest these tickets for inaccurate laws being sited?
since it obviously would not apply to one of the tickets, I was asking why you would be able to contest "these tickets". I see no reason to contest "these tickets" even now.

    as you were saying:

.being a military paralegal myself i figured if i recite the wrong law on my end of the paperwork (procecution) we are obligated to drop that charge
.I would think you would hold yourself to the same standards as you demand.
