Default Mann Bracken Case Turned Over to New Company

Hello everyone. I decided to post this in hopes for some guidance and that it may help others in my situation. It's no mystery now about the demise of Mann Bracken. But like myself and many others my account was turned over to a new collection company. I received a letter in the mail that my account with MB had been referred to a company named Schlee & Stillman Law Office LLC. and that further contact and payments need to be sent to them. So far all I have done is I sent a Validation letter back to the company requesting them to prove the debt is mine in hopes that they may not have received my full file from Mann Bracken. Crossing fingers.

Anyway, does anyone here have any experience with this company: Schlee & Stillman Law Office LLC.?

Secondly other then responding with the Validation letter that I already mailed, is there anything else I should do now that I know my debt with Mann Bracken didn't simply disappear?

    Any insight or opinions appreciated...

One thing I would do is contact bud hibbs on this. It is a very touchy subject I rather not touch. I will say that there is no proof right now that the original creditor assigned Schlee & Stillman Law Office LLC to collect on this....Also if Mann Bracken purchased the account and is filing bankruptcy, then this account must be included in it and is uncollectable.

Bud hibbs also has a forum topic on this company, you should go there and ask for help too.

As for the Debt Validation letter, you should be good, I doubt they will respond.

Also, what state are you in???? check to see that any law firm trying to collect is a licensed attorney in your state or not, that gives you an idea if they can file suit or not. Also some states require debt collectors to be licensed and registered as a corporation...
