Balance Due on a Closed Bank Account

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: ga i received a call from a collection agency that a bank account was closed with a balance due in 1997 and that with intrest a little over 300 is now due is there a sol on this

If it has been since 1997 that would be.................almost 13 years???? Yeah the SOL is Written Contract: 6 years.....If they become a pest, send them a cease and desist.

In some states, checking accounts are considered open accounts. They are here in Florida but I can't speak to GA.
