Back Child Support after Step-Parent Adoption is Completed

hi all!

I am in Texas and just finished up step-parent adoption of my husband's child.

The bio-mother of the child still owes almost $30,000.00 in back child support.

Will the Office of Attorney General's office still take my husband's case and enforce the payment even though the child is adopted? Or do we need to hire a private lawyer to do this?

I know the bio-mother does not owe any future support but still is respobsible for back child support.

Got an answer from another message board and wanted to share with you guys. This person who replay to me actually spoke to OAG and her attorney upon her completion of step-parent adoption.

In Texas, OAG will keep collecting owed back child support from NCP even after adoption of child is completed.
