Unhappy How to Stop Biological Father from Interfering with Adopted Child

My question involves adoption law for the State of: TX

My child was adopted by my husband after the biological father gave up his rights. The biological father shows up at my childs school activities, delivers items/letters to her school, texts her phone, etc...keeping us all upset. A restrainging order or protective order requires criminal intent. A letter has been sent to the biological father & spouse requesting that my child wants no contact with them, but still they continue. What all can we do?

have you simply called the police and made a report?.

Believe it or not, they might actually have some direction for you.
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.

File for that restraining order - this is NOT his child and you DO have the right to restrict who is around your child and it should NOT require criminal intent because the child is a minor. You can't restrict him from attending public functions but at least you'll have something should he choose to keep going.

And change your child's phone number (or buy a new phone).

Inform the school that should he deliver anything at all with your child's name on it, you should be notified and these things should NOT be given to your child without your consent.

    Now with that said..

..is your child facilitating the contact at all?

As the other members have indicated, you do have grounds for a restraining order. He is effectivly a legal stranger to your child; he has no rights whatsoever to contact her and what he is doing is harassment and perhaps even stalking.
