Boyfriend Promised to Pay for Abortion, Never Did

NEW JERSEY-I'm a 20 year old female...guy was 28, I got pregnant, I'm in the military up for deployment and I just couldn't have a baby..
Anyways..I decided to get an abortion after much pressuring from the guy..said he would pay for it, but he didn't have the money at the time...and since I did, he asked if I could pay for it, and if he could just pay me back...anyways 400 dollars later, and over a month goes by and he doesn't give me a dime...nothing, keeps saying next week, next week, etc...now does a oral contract come into play? He promised me he'd pay for the whole thing..and with me already 12 weeks at the time I couldn't sit around and wait, I had 2 pay for it myself...so I have texts and emails and such...as well as him promising my sister to pay me back...anyways can I get this dirtbag to pay me back or not

My sister says if that doesn't work I can possibly get him for furnishing alcohol to a minor since he always bought and gave me alcohol...but...I just want my money back

Take him to small claims court. The e-mails ought to be sufficient backup for you to prevail.

Absent a legal obligation to pay, this starts to look like a promise to make a gift. Promises to make gifts are not enforceable in court.
