Default Slander, Defamation, and Libel in Tennessee

My question involves defamation and slander in the state of: Tennessee. My fiance has been living with me for a year. Her son was in the process of getting a divorce when we met. His daughter (20) was used to "Daddy" giving her $$ when she wanted it. That has changed. Last month, the daughter made the accusation of child porn on his computer and he hasn't been in that house for over 1 1/2 years. The detectives found "kiddy porn" on the computer in his daughters house + she has a history of drugs, etc. Detectives were here and took 4 computers just before Christmas. One of the computers (1) was to be a Christmas present for my fiance's granddaughter. > The girl is in the 2d grade and reads on a 6th grade level + math on a 4th grade level. The other computers were used for (2) on-line shopping / "Big Fish Games", and bill paying - (3) landscape design / boat plans / on-line research - (4) sitting in a closet. We have NOT heard what or if anything illegal was found on any of the computers and/or when they might be returned. This has caused much hardship with our daily lives and a bunch of embarrasement (neighbors) when 3 black vehicles drove into our drive and confiscated the computers. I'm hoping the detectives will charge the daughter for filing a false report. I'm preparing to file charges against the daughter if she doesn't 'skip out' again because she IS on probation. Assistance appreciated to prepare the case [B]before[B] I go to legal aid. We're retired on fixed income and do not need the added expense and humiliation from a kid that wants to "stick" Daddy.

There's really no point in thinking about a defamation lawsuit until after the possible criminal charge has been favorably resolved. Even then, you've told us that his daughter is a deadbeat, a criminal on probation and possibly a drug addict, so what do you think she could possibly pay if he successfully sued her?

    I am really confused.

Your fiancee... "Her son" was getting a divorce then "his daughter" wants money.

Your fiancee has lived with you for a year? But the child porn was found at the daughter's house? Or your house?
All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence; then success is sure.
