My question involves traffic court in the State of: California
I got a ticket for making an illegal left turn. It was an unfair ticket but the fact is that I did it.
So I went to the Hall of Justice to 1)pay the fine; and 2) request traffic school (which I did online 2 years ago).
The clerk talked me out of it by telling me to make a Court Date (whether I was guilty or not guilty) and that the Judge would reduce the cost of the fine. When I asked, what about traffic school (since I did not want any points at the DMV) he said, I'd get my fine reduced and then I could request traffic school, so I set a court date for February.
Then I had someone tell me that they too once went to Court to have the fine reduced, which it was, but that she did not get traffic school and it was not a time-issue. I called today, and I asked a similar question as this, and she said, you can still go to traffic school but it depends on different things, like the mood of the judge, etc. Now I'm not so sure I let the clerk talk me into changing my original plan.
What should I do?
