My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Florida.
I had a telephone appeal hearing this morning based on the fact my employer denied my unemployment benefits request saying "I quit voluntarily". However, I put in my two weeks notice and was "let go" the same day, that afternoon. I continued claiming weeks and explained my story to the hearing officer this morning. I also explained I was seeking employment elsewhere due to the fact that my immediate supervisor and me were in an "unprofessional" relationship that included him serving me alcohol when I was under the age of 21, sexual emails, and his wife harassing me on social networking website's after wards.
Anyways, I had the hearing and I was told I should receive a decision letter within 4-5 business days.
If the employer does NOT show, do I automatically get my decision turnaround for my approval?
If so, how long after wards does it take to get benefits? I have about 10 weeks claimed, backed up.
Is it all paid out in one lump sum?
Thanks.
