Is a No Contact Order Valid in All States

My son and his wife just moved to NC from WA. They had a no contact order due to a DV conviction on my son (shouting, some pushing). They have a 3 yo son and a daughter on the way, made amends and wanted to stay togethor. They need to know if the no contact order still in effect in WA state is upheld or on the record in NC.

He's afraid to apply to apply for Medicaid for his child and pregnant wife.. not for him because of that order and his wife and child badly need Medicaid since his job here provides no health coverage for the family.

Under the Full Faith and Credit Act, restraining orders in one state are enforceable in other states, and yes, in almost all cases they are visible to law enforcement nation wide. Unless the original order had an expiration, it's good forever and if they are found together, he'll be at risk of going to jail. She needs to find out from the court that issued the order if there is an expiration on it, and if she wants it removed, she needs to ask the court to do that.
