Default Veteran Denied Job After a Background Check

My question involves a background check in the State of: Ohio

    Hello.
I'am writing this for my son-inlaw, he just returned from iraq jan09.
he is in the army reserve national guard with tours in kosovo, as well as the one stated above.

he had the military pay for CDL school and just finished the school last week here in ohio.

had a job offer went to oreintation this monday, tuesday and supposedly wed.

past all tests and was sitting in the trucking companys facility just now and called me told my wife and I that someone called his cell phone from the companys HR office and told him to go "home" that something on his security record is going to prevent him from being hired!

instead of wondering what, when and where the S*** hits the fan , what are his rights to pursue this as far as being told why, what was on his record.

My daughter and son-inlaw are devasted, good kid never been in trouble.

does his rights fall under:THE FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT?

    no-one would tell him anything.

    ty for any help offered.

That doesn't answer the question of "why was he denied".

What, specifically, was in his background check that the company found objectionable?

If the employer has not informed him of the specific problem, he should be able to request a copy of the background check.

if we knew exactly why then i wouldn't be here.

more of my question is pertaining to how does he find out.?

he should be able to request a copy of the background check.
thats the question here, can he only request it or does he have a right to the info?

Could someone refer me to a reliable background check website/agency?
