CVC 21801(A), Failure to Yield on Left Turn

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of:California
I arrived at the light, the officer was to my left and I had all green lights. I then proceeded to make a left turn, then immediately the officer turned on his lights, made a u-turn to get behind me and then pulled me over. He then at first told me I could only turn left when I had a green arrow, which didn't make sense for the particular light, as I don't believe there is a green arrow, only green lights. After he got my information he came back and told me I failed to yield on a left turn, which didn't make sense to me because I had nobody to yield too in the first place. No accident involved at all. Could someone help me understand this?

There's nothing to understand, your cop screwed up but didn't want to admit it, so he wrote you for a similar violation. You should just go to court and tell the same story you have told here. Don't be afraid to diligently cross examine the cop after he testifies.
