Default Cleaning Up Credit After Bankruptcy

After bankruptcy, what is the best way to start cleaning up credit. I have one small credit card, paid faithfully (250.00 limit) is that a good start?

When my house sells (divorce) I will have 18 months to reinvest proceeds in a new primary residence. Do you think a lender will consider me after almost two years after a bankruptcy?

The best approach, in simple terms, is to get as much credit as you can (even if the interest rate is too high), to never make a late payment, and even to pay off loans early. If you have a solid down payment you can probably find a lender who will consider you now - but the fees and interest rate you pay are likely to be high.

Get a few revolving accounts and be sure to pay them each month - that's what I always encourage my clients to do. Then sit back and watch your credit score go back up!
