How Do I Honestly Fill Out Applications

My question involves criminal records for the state of: VA

I'm having difficulty filling out applications. I was charged with embezzlement but was since it was my first offense I was given a lesser sentence (larceny). I've filled out many applications and many have asked how you been convicted of a felony in the past in the past 7 years. I check "no" because I was under the impression that I was convicted of Larceny. But I have been fired from 2 jobs because the background check performed showed what I was arrested for (embezzlement) and whether I was found guilty (no mention of larceny). So basically what I am asking is what should I be putting on my applications

I would start answering "YES" when it asks about Felony Conviction. You can also make a note "please see me" next to it (I had a state agency helping me seek work, this topic was covered in their generalized "job seeking tips" pamphlet).

It appears that the reduction is still a felony just a lower one like the op said. The court clerk can provide you with a paper it will have the oringal charge and what it was reduced to and if it's a felony or misdeamanor.
