My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Wisconsin
I am having major issues with a builder currently constructing my home. The contract I have with him stipulates a period of 120 working days to complete construction - which would leave a completion date of late June. It is now 5 months past that date.
While the contract states an amount of time to finish the home, it does not mention damages. We have made several changes in the home - however, none of those changes have caused delay since all were made well before materials were ordered by the builder. More importantly, all change orders we signed were marked "0" in the area asking how many days the change would add to the construction time of the home. Although he made comments of certain changes adding to the construction time, I have email exchanges that prove otherwise.
My question is, what damages am I legally entitled to sue for, if any? In addition to paying the mortgage loan, property tax, and utilities on the new home - I have been paying to live in an apartment, and $100 a month to store appliances for the new house.
