Advance Parole Information

I came to the US on K 1 Fiance visa. I have an I 94 attached to my Passport. I filed for Adjustment of status and Advance parole on 1st October with USCIS. USCIS says that Advance Parole usually takes 90 days. That approximately makes it 1st January 2010. I have to leave for my country on 23rd December. I just wanted to know if it is safe/ legal to leave on K 1 Fiance Visa without Advance parole in hand, get it mailed by my wiife in the US to my country, and show it on my return to the US. Wouldn't the immigration officers object that i left without the Advance Parole and how i got it on my way back to the US.
and is it legal to have ther advance parole sent through mail? I heard from somebody that it is illegal to send immigration documents, passports etc through mail.

Wait, hold on.

You've gotten married and have applied for AOS?

No, you really should NOT leave without having that Advance Parole firmly in hand. If you leave without it, and it's denied, you'll have a very difficult time getting back into the country.

Once you apply for your AOS, you're expected to stay put in the US unless you're given permission to both leave and return.
