Effect of Quitting Part-Time Work on Collecting Unemployment

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: california

My question is that I am collecting UI and I accepted a part time job. I worked on 2 different days at the new part time job (12 hours total) and realized that it was not for me as the owner of the shop was CRAZY!! I reported my wages on my last claim form and EDD deducted the wages from my last UI check. I sent in my new claim form on Monday & since I am no longer working part time I didn't claim any wages. Will this affect my UI benefits?? Will they think I just didn't work those 2 weeks?? I am kind of freaking out that I might have screwed myself by taking & then quitting the part time job.

Any help would be GREAT!!

I beleive that you might loose unemployment because you refused work.

You really should have waited for the crazy owner to fire you instead of quitting. Once they get around to processing your first claim where you did report wages, they should be contacting you to find out what happened with that employment. I have no idea how long it will take a human at the EDD to be sent that info from the automated system that simply deducted the amount from your previous UI check.

I don't know California law.

In Michigan, if you accept a job and it is not suitable work, you are able to quit and keep your benefits. Since you quit just because the owner is "crazy"....I don't think that is going to be a good cause.....

As far as I know, you have to report that you quit a job. Best be honest, because if you are not, they can come after you to get the money for benefits you should not have been getting.
