Post How to Break a Lease with 3 Additional Signers and a Co-Signer

My question involves a roommate in the State of: New York

My lease was orgianally signed with 4 people on it, 2 couples, and myself being in one of the couples. In order to move in, sense we were all under 21 one of us had to find a suitable co-signer with good credit. I found a family member that offered to co-sign with me in order for us all to move in.

After 2 months on our 6 month lease things at the apartment have turned sour. My other roommates have turned hostile with threats of suing for leaving the apartment.

The landlord knows my situtaiton but is unfamiluar on what she could do for me beyond this point. I offered to continue paying rent, even though I would rather not pay rent at a place I no longer live.

Is there anyway I can break out of the lease, and get my co-signer off with me?

You mean, without any further consequences? (Breaking a lease is easy - you move out and stop paying rent; but that doesn't get you off the hook for rent.) Only if your landlord consents, which seems unlikely.

Yeah but it I just leave and stop paying rent that leaves me, and my co signer still liable for rent and damages to the apartment... And they technically dont need to find a co signer sense theirs already one on the lease...
