Default How to Protect a Family Member from Domestic Violence

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia

An immediate family member of mine has been seeing a very abusive man. I am very afraid for our safety. This family member is not willing to file any charges mainly due to pity and mental manipulation. Cops have been called before by neighbors although claims of abuse were denied. This person has a current restraining order against him. Multiple witnesses have observed stalking behavior and physical abuse as well.

I would like to find out if the person involved directly is not willing to press charges, what actions could I possibly take to protect our safety. I believe this man has the potential to cause grave danger.

    Please help. Thank you..

If you believe you have grounds for a restraining order based upon credible threats against you, seek one.

You also need to have a safety plan to supplement that restraining order because ultimately, it's a piece of paper and won't STOP someone from committing additional violence, it only enhances penalties should someone do so.
