    Default Changing Courts

My Ex use to work for CPS in an adjacent county and has worked with the court my paternity case is in.

I have also found out that the judge in our court use to be her parents family lawyer, and her mother has spoken with him. The Judge has filed paper work to have the case moved to another court in the same county.

I live 1.5 hours away from where the court is, and even though it has been moved to another court in the same county, I fear that she has worked in with the new court also.

Do I have grounds to ask for it to be transfered to another court, in a different county?

If I do, how do I go about doing it?

    Thank you in Advance.

If you can show a potential conflict of interest, then you have grounds to make the request. But you'll need to concretely prove a connection; fears and beliefs won't cut it. Make sure your are sharing these concerns with your attorney though. He/she will be able to advise you best since he/she will be very familiar with the judges in your area.

That'd be nice if I could afford one, and the local legal help places weren't backed up 6 months, and keep refering me to local ones for me, as I live 2 hours aways from where she filed the case.

Odd how she can walk in and sign a form, then I now have debt, and cannot see my son, because they don't handle that.
