My question involves criminal law for the state of: Connecticut
So let me clarify this before i start, this is not a friend of a friend story and does not involve me directly, i am trying to give the best legal advice i can to a good friend of many years.
So here is the story :
A friend of mine who is 24 has a bit of a record in the state of Connecticut,
He was sentenced to 3 years of probation and served almost 18 months of that probation, his family left the state of connecticut, leaving him homeless and on probation, no job because of his criminal record, and no place to go.
He was sentenced to 3 years of probation in the state of connecticut after serving 11 months in prision on a 2 misdermenor charges of threatining and harassment,
He never ever had a felony conviction,
Soon after his family left CT, he felt he had no choice but to come stay with his cousin here in KY,
He tried to reason with his probation officer in the state of connecticut, and they just didnt seem to care.
I've know my friend for all my life, and he got into it with his Ex wife when he found out she was seeing someone else while she was pregnant with his child.
To make matters worst, his ex wife came from alot of money, and after blowing off steam and making threats to her in 2005, he was imprisoned and received almost the maximum sentence because she retained a $125,000 lawyer.
As he knows what he did is wrong, I have know him for many years, and i know he just wants to live his life,
Long story short,
He fled the state of connecticut and violated his probation,
I am trying to get the best advice i can for his situation,
So here are a few questions i have,
His charges he was on probation for are misdermenor charges, will they come all the way from CT or have the state of KY hold and extradite him back to CT on such a low misdermenor charges?
and if there is a bench warrant issued for the violation of probation, will it ever expire so he can just go on living life?
