My boyfriend and I live together, and he has "guardianship" of his nephew due to his mom dying. He's 17. He got guardianship by the grandma who had it first signing it over on a piece of paper that they had notarized. Now he wants to sign it over to me because he is out of state a lot, and since we aren't married, I can't take the 17 to get anyhting done-Dr., drivers license, etc. Can he sign it over on paper like he did before? Another question is, who has custody of him? No one in the family is arguing about it, and he only has 11 months left until he turns 18, but I wonder if any of what has been done so far is even legal?
