Getting A Marriage License For An Illegal Immigrant

I am 21 years old and am in love with an illegal immigrant. He abscounded(if thats how you spell it) probation in california. We know there is no way for him to get his papers now. If he goes to try to do his time they will just deport him. We have a son together. We do not want to break our family up. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to have a wedding. Is there any way or place we can get married with it just being in God's eyes and not in the laws eyes. I do know that we are going to take our chances in America to have a family and if he does get deported I will go with him. Yet I am not going to raise our son in Mexico if I don't have to . Is there any way we can get married.

I am not aware of any state which verifies citizenship upon application for a marriage license. You can call the Court Clerk and ask, or check with a lawyer in the state where you intend to marry. Your boyfriend's larger problem may be establishing his identity in order to obtain a marriage license.

If you don't want a marriage license, you can try to find a minister who will perform a non-legally binding ceremony even though you don't have one.
