Default Insurance Rate and One Point on Driving Record

Hello again, I knew my traffic ticket would come back and bite me.

    Location: California
    Court: Alameda County

My insurance rate increased by a couple of hundred dollars due to me having a point on my record. Last year (November 2nd) I had a red light violation and this last February I had a speeding ticket for going 80 in a 65 zone. I paid off all the fees and did traffic court for the red light violation. However I can't do an 8 hour traffic school for the speeding ticket because California law says that I cannot attend more than one traffic school in a 18 months period. I've searched the forums for an answer to clearing the speeding ticket and found that I can request the judge for a 12 hours traffic school.

Is that a possibility? The 12 hours traffic school would turn the 1 point to a zero point violation, but still shows up on the record. Would the insurance rates go up because of that?

    Thanks!

P.S. Everyday I've been driving 5 miles under the speed limit and check for speed traps (even though I don't have to.)

12hr traffic school only cancels the point against your license, not the violation itself. Insurance companies go by convictions, not just the # of points against your license (even though usually only violations that carry points are considered as part of your record). Who's your insurance company?

Take it from me. State Farm counts EVERYTHING they can see.
If you wanted babies all to yourself, you should have created them by yourself. Until you do that, children have the right to BOTH parents, especially since you found them suitable to procreate with.

Hmmmm should I request the 12 hour traffic school? or just pony up and pay the extra 200?
