Default If I Have a Pending Felony Charge is It Pretty Much Pointless to Apply for Jobs

So the felony charge I have will either get dropped or reduced to misdemeanor like trespassing. (will take anywhere from 1-5 months)

I accepted a job that didn't mind the pending charge...it's been 2 weeks and I hate it. I'm getting phone calls from other big companies that I know will be doing an extensive background search if I get a job offer. I have already gotten a job offer I really wanted and later got rejected based on my background check.

Is this pretty much gonna be the case for just about any company out there or should I keep trying. I don't really want to burn any bridges either because with a lot of companies you can;t reapply for certain period.

There's no way we can say what any individual employer might do. However, it doesn't sound good with a pending felony charge. You most likely would be denied employment by most employers. It's very possible you will get denied a job on the basis of even a misdemeanor charge. It depends on the individual employer, job applied for, reason for charge, etc.

All you can do is apply & tell the truth on the application. It's up to you if you want to wait until action is taken on your charge & stick with your current job.

Well I'm in sales and got denied employment by one company I really wanted to work for but I had an offer from another company who didn't have a problem with the background check. These are both publicly traded, large companies with deep background checks. As I absolutely hate my job which I've been working for 1 month or so, I got an offer from another company that would be an ideal fit for me with pretty much double the salary. They are doing a background check and I was upfront with them about it and they told me it shouldnt be a big deal. I'm preying it is so and i get the job. I offered them my lawyers information and fully disclosed that i was intoxicated as hell after a football game and got in some trouble. The good thing is, that after the investigation the case is turning out to be a complete bogus accusation and is most likely gonna get dropped within a month or so. The bad thing is, im losing out on great job offers. Well not this one yet but still.
