Smile Wrote "Pig Fines" on Memo of Check

My question involves defamation in the state of: MICHIGAN

I mailed a check out two weeks ago to the local court and they still havent cashed it. I called multiple times this week to see if they had received it. They kept saying no it must of been lost in the mail. FINALLY, I got angry and they transferred me to the judges office. The lady on the phone told me that my check was in my file and that I would have to schedule a court date. I said "for what?" She said " She did not know." I said "I would like to know for what?" She would not tell me. Finally she said you will have to call back later to see if you can talk to the judge and find out and schedule your court date. I called later and she tells me that the judge said I had to schedule a court date and that there was a problem with the check he wanted to talk to me about. I said what is the problem and she would not tell me. They wouldnt tell me anything. On top of that I asked her if my check would be cashed, she did not know....I asked if I would owe them fines....she said she did not know....I again asked why I had to go to court....She would not tell me.

When I got off the phone I had realized that while mailing my $370 dollar check to the court...I was angry and wrote "Pig Fines" in the memo part of the check. I realize that was very immature of me, but there is no going back.

My question is: Can they make me go to court for that?
Are they allowed to not tell me why I would be going to court?
Are they allowed to hold my check or cash it?
Are they suppose to give me answers?
    Can they do anything?
What if I do not go to court?

Thanks and sorry for those of you that are police officers. I mean no harm. I am young, dumb and hormones were raging that day

    Thanks

My question is: Can they make me go to court for that?
well, one way or the other, yes.

Are they allowed to not tell me why I would be going to court?
yes but also, you do not need to go to court unless summoned to court in some legal manner.

Are they allowed to hold my check or cash it?
I would take good notes of everything that is happening. If the courts normally take checks, they would have a hard time justifying any further actions against you if they claim you failed to pay your fines although, it may happen.

Are they suppose to give me answers?
yes, but only in the proper venue and only when presented in a legally forceful manner.

    Can they do anything?
sure but the real question is do they have the legal power to punish you for your actions.

What if I do not go to court?
that would all depend on them. If you have not been legally summoned to court, you have no legal requirement to attend. If they simply hold your check, it will eventually show up as an unpaid fine and then, a warrant would most likely be issued and on and on.
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.
