    Default Denied Entry

From april 2005 to june 2009 I was in US on F1 student visa. Studied only one semester, my visa supposed to be valid till december 2009, but obvoiusly i broke status.. in october i was denied entry, and officer told me i don't have 3-10 year ban, he cancelled my visa/wrote on it:
    cancelled by 3330
    per 22 CFR 41 122(h)(3)
What does it mean? I'm not sure if iread that corectly. Thanks.
PS. He asked me many questions, and i answered everything truthfully, about job etc..
    Thank you

Thank you. Does it mean I haven't overstayed my visa, and don't have 3-10 yeras ban? Officer told me I could apply for a new visa even next day, but must show strong ties to my home country, and don't lie in consulate.

It sounds like as your I-94 hadn't expired, the officer simply canceled your visa and gave you the benefit of allowing you to withdraw your effort to enter the U.S. so you wouldn't have the consequence of being officially turned back or deported. From what you say, you are presently eligible for a visa - but as the officer indicated, due to your history you need to be able to show strong ties to your home country to improve your chances of getting a visa.
