My question involves an eviction in the state of: Mississippi - Harrison county
If anyone can help, please advice.
I have been renting the apartment from my landlord since July 2008. I signed the lease with 6 months period with 400 dollars security deposit and then the lease turned to be month-to-month lease. Recently, I have been informed that my landlord decided to put his condo on the market for sale. He told me to clean the condo so, his girlfriend could come and take a pictures o the interior. I have been fail to clean the condo and he decided to evict me from his condo. His girlfriend came to hand me Notice to Quit on October 12th, 2009. I have to move out from the condo by November 11th, 2009. 3 days later I have signed a new lease starts from October 14th, 2009 with the other place.
My question is I want to leave the condo by the end of the October month which is the end of the lease. However, my landlord demands me to pay extra rent from November 1st - 11th, 2009 because I did not give him 30 days notice and he said if I do not pay for the rent on November 1st, 2009 he is going to bring me to court by civil law. Do I have to pay him the rent on from the 1st-11th of November if I will leave on October 31st, 2009 and is there any possibility he will try not to take my security deposit away?
